ALL Provider Bulletin - Advanced Learner Loans Expansion

Advanced Learner Loans Expansion

14 January 2016

24+ Advanced Learning Loans are to be expanded in 2016/17.  They will be known as Advanced Learner Loans and will be available to those aged 19 and above and for study at level 3 to level 6.  This will not affect the entitlement to full funding for the first full level 3 qualification for those aged 19-23.  The expanded remit will be available for applications from May 2016 for courses starting on or after 1 August 2016.  More detail will be provided by the Skills Funding Agency in the funding rules.
BIS, the Skills Funding Agency and Student Loans Company are working together to update all the resources we’ve made available to providers, so you can use these to tell learners about the expanded remit.  In the meantime, if you would like to update your own resources with the Advanced Learner Loan logo, attached is the logo and the guidelines for use of it.
You may also want to use learner case studies we published before Christmas in your marketing of Advanced Learner Loans.  Below is a link to all the case studies.

Finally, you will notice that all formal communications from BIS and the Skills Funding Agency will now refer to Advanced Learner Loans as this covers the whole programme both current and 2016/17 onwards.

The Advanced Learner Loans Guidelines and logo have been made available for use by ALL practitioners.
