ALL bulletin – August 2020
Adherence to the service standards
Please check that your learners’ information is correct before you submit your initial attendance confirmations. For more information please see the Attendance section of the Learning Provider Portal user guide.
You should submit any available attendance confirmations by Thursday 10 September to ensure we can make payments on 16 September.
We will monitor your returns to ensure compliance with the service standards.
You should also submit all confirmations of non-attendance and Change of Circumstance notifications in plenty of time. This ensures that learners enter repayment at the correct time and that their funding is in line with their true entitlement.
Learning provider virtual forums – book a space in your diary for November
This is an opportunity for learning providers to participate in small online groups to discuss the administrative requirements of Advanced Learner Loans. We will share information about AY 2019/20 and AY 2020/21 application trends. We will also review opportunities for best practice, looking at it from a learning provider perspective.
Registration will open mid-September. Please check the SLC Events website for more information.
Reminder: updating contract manager details
Please check that your contract manager details are correct on the Learning Provider Portal. You can find these on the Learning Provider Details page. This page shows the information the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) holds for your organisation.
Interest and repayment threshold
The Department for Education (DfE) has confirmed the annual updates to the interest rates and thresholds of income contingent student loans. Repayment threshold for Advanced Learner Loans will rise to £27,295 from 6 April 2021.
SFE residency – address history letters and break in residency evidence
We can accept digital uploads of written address history letters and documents which show a customer's break in residency. These are the only residency documents we can accept via digital upload. If they are received alongside other residency documents the whole case will be rejected and originals requested.
