Advanced Learner Loan 2025/26 online application service is now open

The Advanced Learner Loan 2025/26 online application service is now available to learners. Eligible learners can apply online on GOV.UK. They'll need their Learning and Funding Information Letter (LAFIL) to make an application.

When you issue LAFILs to learners, please check that there's been approval for funding of the learning aim for academic year 2025/26.

DfE has updated the suggested LAFIL template for this year. You can view and download the template from GOV.UK.

Your learners will only be able to apply from today if you've signed and returned your academic year 2025/26 loans contract to DfE. They also must have passed this on to us. Please check that this has happened and is visible on the Learning Provider Portal.
