Attendance confirmations for academic year (AY) 2024/25
As we near the end of the academic year, it's important to make sure you clear down your attendance worklist. This allows for the payment or claw back of fees where appropriate.
Please check the Payment Instalment Report (PIR) on the Financials Home tab of the LP Portal for previous academic years. It's important that you complete any overdue admin tasks to prepare for the new academic year.
It's your responsibility to check that registers are up to date and accurate. Please make sure you've cleared your Change of Circumstance (CoC) worklist. You must also action all suspensions and withdrawals in a timely and accurate manner.
August attendance fixed quarter
Applications for learners on courses continuing into AY 2025/26 will appear on the Attendance Worklist from 1 August.
If learners are not in active learning over the summer period, you should leave them as 'Awaiting Confirmation'. This can change when you've verified their return in the autumn term.
If learners fail to return, please withdraw back to their last date of attendance of the course.
For learners who are in active learning throughout the summer, please confirm attendance for the August fixed quarter.
We’ll issue a reminder at the start of next month and check confirmations following the August drawdown date.
Access to HE write-off
To be eligible for a Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) Access to HE Diploma loan write-off, learners must complete a higher education qualification eligible for SFE funding.
All higher education qualifications designated for SFE funding are eligible. This includes:
- Higher National Certificates
- Higher National Diplomas
- Foundation degrees
- NHS funded courses
Learners do not need to achieve an outcome, such as passing exams or gaining a specific class of degree. There also does not need to be a relationship between the QAA Access to HE Diploma course and the higher education qualification.
When a student receiving tuition fee support completes their higher education qualification, we'll check if they previously completed a QAA Access to HE Diploma. They do not need to send us evidence of completing their higher education qualification. We'll automatically write off the balance of their QAA Access to HE Diploma loan and notify them to confirm this.
Further information about the write-off policy is on the LP Services website.
