The table below shows what evidence we need to clarify that the learner has the declared residency status and is eligible for support.

EEA or Swiss migrant worker |
If the learner is the migrant worker

If the residency status document does not have a 'valid from' date, we need the original Home Office letter confirming the date status was granted.
We need written address history only. We do not ask for residency evidence or a Connexus check, unless the learner falls under the long residency requirements. This is determined by the Evidence Validation team. We may perform further checks (such as Home Office checks) or ask for documentation to confirm lawful status for the period if this has not already been shown. |
If funding is approved when the learner only holds an EUSS certificate of application and pre-settled or settled status are subsequently not granted, future funding may be affected.
