Advanced Learner Loan bulletin – December 2022

Important – January performance management review point

We're approaching the second and final Advanced Learner Loan performance management review point for academic year 2022/23. This is on 13 January 2023. You'll need to have used 90% or more of your loan facility to be in scope for a growth award.

If you do not meet the criteria in chapter 25 of the funding rules but need growth, you should contact your ESFA territorial team lead. You should also complete the exceptional case template which will be available from 4 January. You should return completed forms by Friday 13 January.

You can track your facility usage with the Loan Facility Details report. This is available in the Financials Home section of the Learning Provider Portal.

Due to the tight deadline following the Christmas break, please attend to this as a priority if you plan to be considered for growth.

Learning Provider Seminars 2022

A big thank you to those who were able to join us at this year’s Learning Provider seminar programme. We hope you found it of use.

We'll publish the workshop slides and FAQ document capturing the questions we received across the seminars this week. These will be available soon on our events website.

Academic staff workshops

We're keen to make sure academic staff are aware of the service standards and the importance of their role in ensuring you remain compliant.

We can offer an online workshop for your academic staff to cover the service standard requirements, the impact of non-compliance and examples of good practice.

If you would like to arrange a session, please contact your FE Account Manager.

EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS) share code process

If a learner indicates they hold status awarded under EUSS, we'll send them an email to request their share code. The learner will need to generate their share code on GOV.UK. We must receive the specific 'Something Else' share code from the learner for student finance purposes. This code now remains valid for 90 days instead of the previous 30 days.
