2023/24 LP Portal reconciliation

Ahead of the start of academic year 2024/25, please carry out housekeeping tasks for 2023/24. This includes:

• checking the Payment Instalment Report (PIR) on the Financials Home tab for each academic year going back to 2017/18, and complete any overdue administration tasks
• adding any outstanding ULNs
• checking for a verified National Insurance number (NINO)
• confirming any outstanding attendance confirmations

Please also check your CoC worklist for any outstanding suspensions and withdrawals. This will make sure outstanding admin tasks are completed for previous academic years.

August attendance fixed quarter

Applications for learners whose course is continuing into 2024/25 will appear on the Attendance Worklist from 1 August. If learners are not in active learning over the summer period, you should leave them as Awaiting Confirmation until you have verified their return in the Autumn term.

If learners fail to return, please withdraw back to their last date of attendance of the course.

For learners who are in active learning throughout the summer, please confirm attendance for the August fixed quarter. We’ll issue a reminder at the start of next month and check confirmations following the August drawdown date.

Duplicate customer reference numbers (CRN)

Please remind any learners expecting to be loan funded that if they have previously registered, they should apply using their existing CRN. If they've ever applied for student finance in the past or provided financial information in support of an application, they’ll already have a CRN. We’ve found that some learners have set up a brand-new account in error which we have to delete as the ULN and NINO are linked to the original CRN.

Learners should apply online via GOV.UK. If they've forgotten their CRN, learners can also recover their details on GOV.UK by providing their full name and date of birth.

We’ve recently published the official statistics of Advanced Learner Loans paid in England in 2023/24. This document covers the payments made in the academic year 2023/24 from August 2023 to April 2024 inclusive. It also includes the figures for the same period in academic years 2021/22 and 2022/23 for comparison.
