Advanced Learner Loan bulletin - March 2025


Advanced Learner Loan training events

We're hosting a series of full day and face-to-face training events throughout May.

The events are suitable for new providers, new staff or those who wish to refresh or expand their knowledge.

Training events will take place across the following dates and locations:

  • Exeter – 14 May
  • Darlington – 15 May
  • London – 21 May
  • Manchester – 21 May
  • Birmingham – 22 May

Each event consists of full day, face-to-face sessions with lunch and refreshments provided. As such, attendance at the training day will be subject to a fee of £120 plus VAT per person to cover our costs.

We'll open registration shortly, please look out for the registration email.

We expect interest to be high due to an increase in providers, so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Advanced Learner Loans in England – academic year 2024/25

We've published the latest quarterly update for Advanced Learner Loans paid in England in academic year 2024/25, from August to January.

The official statistics are available to view on GOV.UK

Applications in Progress

You can use the LP Portal to monitor the status of your applications. This enables you to track learners who have yet to submit the required evidence or information.

Please select the ‘Applications in Progress’ application status to search for any pre-approved applications that are:

  • awaiting validation
  • awaiting investigation
  • awaiting approval
  • awaiting rejection

If you select the 'Learner Information Home' tab, then the 'Learner Search' page, you can filter by the application status.

Easter break

In advance of the Easter break, please ensure you review your attendance and Change of Circumstance (CoC) worklists. It's important to make sure you deal with all tasks in advance of drawdown on Thursday 10 April.
